The Vixen Of Vengeance

Written by David Strege

A curious pairing of studios brought Luchastyle Studios and Slasher Studios from 2016 for the directoral debut of Patrick Pena.

Jack Fast was on a high school football team and as an after thought for senior year was invited to a party to finally meet a man his freind’s had all already been meeting on a camping trip.

A story was told, a fight broke out and that man killed Jack and bring him in a lake nearby but not what the boys told.

Diane knew the truth in her gut.  Two years later she hatched her vengeance to kill each man off one by one involved in the cover up but in the end is it worth it?

The problem I had wasn’t with the story line but with the audio.  The audio was up and down soft in places great in others but to me in order for a film to be great you have to be able to hear ever uttered silible.  Another problem was I felt that Michelle Mullins needed to be more stern, more angry some emphasis behind her reason for vengeance.

That being said I liked it, enjoyed it kind of a no holds barring all in or nothing feeling no remorce… regret I will say Mullins pulled off that end scene expertly but I needed more agression-emotion not just like she was talking.  The times I saw her angry was when she was stabbing a victim.

There are good things and bad things… i dont want to be cruel… things I think can be worked upon but altogether not a bad put together first feature has its good points… I believe it was meant to have a much more fiercer attitude as the title suggests.  I just didn’t entirely feel said attitude entirely…

I recommend this film for all horror fans to view and have your own opinion.  But I think I’ll treasure this film for one reason though and that is for another time…

Starring Yuri Barcenas as Olivia Fast, Pete Garlock as Detective Michael Hart, Drew Kutnick as Berry Adams, Patrick Lelek as Gary ( as Patrick Lelak), Brian Maldenado as Jack Fast, Michelle Mullins as Diane Young, Brandon Nyte as Trevor Gordon, Tremont Turner as Carl.

Do’s & Dont’S Of Dating

Written by David Strege

Brought to us again from Deal Breakers Studios directed by Jonathon Miller being his second short film this is kind of a Narrated film by Rolono Roy and his vicarious misadventures with romance as a player…

So James a freind shows up at Sean’s crib as they shoot the shit about their current status’s.  Sean is kicking his fine looking asian live-in girlfriend Krista out for needing some space to think.  Where as James?

He had a date from online where he took her to a high class place and she seemed more interested in texting on her phone and asking him who he voted for last election than to the actual manners you should be on your first date…

Basically this short reminds me a little like if Furgeson Explains It All and Hitch had a love child with the right kind of humor and right kind of acting.  Even think it’s a little education of how to be on your game a little… I enjoyed it was different and interesting.  I think Rolono Roy as Sean played his character well for the role he played… well done! And I hear it’s being turned into a feature.

I recommend this film for anyone struggling with a relationship perfect for those pants on the ground thugs to kinda listen to the message to secure that lasting relationship…

Starring Rolono Roy as Sean, Krista Hill as Stacy, Alex West as James, Amey West as James, Amey Nguyen as Krista, Patrice Louvered as Naomi.

Snake In The Grass

Brought to us by Deal Breaker Studios written and directed by Jonathan Milton comes this short film about a man who sent his boy meaning fellow thug brotha out after to see who snitch him out to the fuzz.

Being as this may be the first short film of Director Milton’s I’m also going to point out in reality this is my first attempt at reviewing a short film with all an African American cast which isn’t a bad thing as I love deIving into what can be offered up from an indie Director such as Mr. Jonathan Milton and his side of the film spectrum and I want to give credit where it’s due.

I’m also going to say I love the title.  It’s short and to the point this being said the film begins as Fat Tony wakes.

He kisses his wife Keisha as he goes out fetches the morning paper… police surround and arrest Fat Tony.

In Fort Bend County Jail… Fat Tony calls his boy I’m assuming Andre tells him to find the Snake in the Grass and Cut off his head…

Long story short someone in the crew was having an affair with Fat Tony’s woman… you’ll have to watch to learn who…

I thought the actors played their part there weren’t a whole lot of roles but this was a good starting point for a story. Made me wonder if there could be more to the story… I’d certainly be interested as so far I’ve seen two productions from Milton and liked the films I’ve seen thus far.

I recommend this short film for those into watching a little gangsta flick… enjoy!

Starring Jonathan Milton as Fat Tony, Krista Hill as Keisha, Akira Opolot as Police #1, Fred (Mr. FS) Parnell as Police #2, Ian Haywood as Willis, Derrick Pittman as Jason, Breton Roberson as Andre.

The Foreign Exchange Student

Written by David Strege

Brought to us in part by Art Actual Studios and Deal Breaker Studios from 2016 this is the first feature film coming from the Miller brothers Jonathon & Justin together.

It begins in Roseau, Dominica Caribbean  with a phone call between girlfriends in the of Sinclair John as she relates she’s slept with a man… Her folks are talking about sending her to another country as she doesn’t have many freind’s but Sinclair is against the idea as there’s a boy that’s shes interested in… Malcolm.  Her freind tells her to be wary as hes slept with half the volleyball team and known to be a player she brushes it off…

In any case Sinclair bakes Malcolm a pie ingredients unknown at the time, ends up dead and Ocean City Police show up at the Johns residence with questions about her relationship with Malcolm as witnesses put them being as close.  Sinclair denies knowing Malcolm that closely and as her parents were already discussing sending her away as a foreign exchange student decide it’s best for a change of scenery to go ahead.

Sinclair is sent to live in Houston, Texas to live with the Reams Family. Andrew and Monica have two children Jaquelin and Bishop.

Sinclair is met by a foreign exchange rep name of Mrs Worthington to meet the family.  Right away Jaquelin rakes a dislike to Sinclair and treats Sinclair with disdain.  As the film goes on we see a husband and son get drawn into a twisted relationship as we see the downward spiral of the psychotic nature in Miss Sinclair John.  Paul and Chris are freind’s Paul is Jackie’s boy so not only does she seduce Chris but Paul, Mr. Reams as him and his wife rarely get some sex action him being a barbor and Monica a Lawer, and Bishop are on her radar as well as their very white teacher Mr. Adams…

I’d call this a slasher possession film as manipulative she was it basically shows the devious journey of a woman who is very much aware of her sexuality power as well as the cold mentality of how one minute she can be this sweet sexy mixen as well as a cold blooded killer…

Though it was slow to getting around to the main story and dragged a little bit? Altogether it was a sound ground thriller as she slowly drives a wedge with in one entire family.  When she’s done she’S decided to exchange again and this time it’s your city… haha

I enjoyed this film like I said it was slow but it packed a good psychotic punch! I recommend this film for sure…

From what I understand Jonathon Miller has another feature film planned called The Perfect Wife.

Starring Donny Boaz as Mr. Adams, Brandi Jamille Brown as Mrs. John, Ruby Lee Dove II as Jogger #1, Alex West as Jogger #2, Diego Bieberach as Diego, Jae McCain as Detective Anderson, Huberto Villarreal as Student #2, Bianca Tonsall as Sinclair John, Mary Michelle as Monique, Tonyai Palmer as Mrs. Williams, Rocfielle Living as Mr. Reams (as Roc Living), Ricky Martinez as Student #3, Natasha Jolivette as Mrs. Reams, Jaye Alexander as Jackie, Ian Haywood as Chris, Monique Holmes as Mrs. Baker, Reggie Choyce as Bishop, Christopher Rojas as Teacher #1, Iyonna Brown as Detective Washington, Chris St. Mary as Malcolm, Braylon Alexander as Paul, Everett Niel Gill as Mr. John, Jessica Milton as Student #5, Joseph Trevino as Mr. Rojas, Kourtney Hunt as Detective Houston, Deandra Noil as Student #4, Cynthia Ellis as Ms. Johnson, Alicia Stevens as Detective Rogers, Sirenia Vanegas as Student #1.
